New Jersey linebacker J.B. Fitzgerald just announced on ESPNU that he has committed to Michigan. Fitzgerald is a 4-star recruit and becomes Michigan's 15th committ. The Wolverines have been working hard on the offensive side of the ball in the recruiting world already, but now it's time to go to work on the defense.
Fitzgerald becomes the second linebacker from N.J. to verbal to Michigan, as he joins Marcus Witherspoon, who committed earlier this summer.
Welcome to the Maize and Blue, J.B!

Sweet!!!!!! How big of a jump do you think this gives our recruiting class on Scout/Rivals?
I'm not exactly sure. Rivals hasn't even been updated since the Wilson committ, so we'll just have to wait and see I guess.
Great pick for this class,we need some defense!! Anyone going to the UM/ND game??

I am just commenting out loud, but why does it really matter what JB's commit does to the team recruiting rankings? The bottom line is that UM picked up a solid defensive player that has the tools to turn himself into a monster LBer. And thank god. The team needs to get cooking on the Defensive recruiting. This is just the 4th defensive verbal so far. Let's hope HALE comes on board next. I think he's going to be a BEAST.
