With the John Beilein era of Michigan basketball underway, there are going to be a lot of changes that go on. Whether it be personnel, players, and/or hopefully the win total, all will be seen on the court during games. To create a better atmosphere while fans watch those games, new Maize Rage president Steve Wolters is trying to make some changes that will make Crisler Arena a more enjoyable place to watch a game. Wolters said he was told the band MIGHT be moved to above the arena tunnel for games.
Anything that makes for a better expereince at Crisler is fine in my book. Of course, winning is the thing that would do that best, but we'll just have to hope that happens.
Apparenlty (sic), according to Wolters, the band and basketball staff are expected to have a meeting soon to see if they can change up how things are done at games.
Wolters says to expect much more volume from the band and a lot more modern and upbeat music.
Another interesting thing: There's plans moving foward (sic) - again according to the meeting Wolters had with basketball staff - for the folks who do the video at games on the scoreboard to make much better use of it.
That could mean video profiles of players to run before and during games that show the fun glimpses of their personalities.
Also mentioned in the post that was linked above is that the non-conference schedule should be out in the next couple of weeks. It'll be interesting to see all of the match-ups, especially with a few big names returning to the slate.
