The Day the Program Died

It's over, folks.

The Michigan football program hit rock bottom last week but somehow continues to get worse as time goes by.

I've had it. Fire Carr. Fire English. Fire DeBord. Clean house. The coaching staff is a complete joke and the lack of good play shows that. There is absolutely no excuse for giving up over 600 yards and on the other side of the ball, no excuse for only scoring 7.

All I can say is this team will be lucky to get enough wins to even make a bowl game. Next week's game against a potential 0-2 Notre Dame game will even be a stretch to win.

More tomorrow or Monday.

When? I say fire DeBord and English now, and I guess promote a couple position coaches as interim coordinators? That might stop the bleeding, as the playcalling and player preparation could hardly get worse. But I think that firing Lloyd before the end of the season does no good, and actually harms us in terms of recruiting. I mean, who do we move up to head coach?

Icing on the cake: Beaver stadium attendance: 110,000+. Ours was only 109k+. The stadium announcement notwithstanding, the Big House was not home to the largest crowd watching a football game anywhere in America today.

I know Lloyd won't be fired anyway, but I agree, DeBord and English have to go now. I can't take any more of this crap. DeBord has the most unimaginative mind ever.

Just wait until the Eastern game, I bet we don't even hit 100k for it.

Championship or not, Les Miles and staff will be in Ann Arbor in 08'. The good news is that the harder Michigan falls the harder UM 'should' go after him.$.$

Did Lloyd Carr's postgame comments on espn.com sound like a goodbye speach or was it just me?

I have gotten calls from all over the US, one so-call friend in North Carolina texted me on every big play or f-ck-up!Now going to work monday is like that bad movie ground-hog day!this is bullshit! HART IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE BIG HOUSE THAT HAS A HART!EVEN THE CROWD IS ALWAYS SO STINKING QUIET MOST GAMES,ITS TIME TO GET WITH THE TIMES MICHIGAN AND FANS!

I think the crowd was a lot louder than normal, until Henne threw that stupid interception on the first drive. That killed whatever energy was in the place. I do agree though, I wish all sections would stand and make noise, not just the student section.

Famous College Football Analyst Hugh Suk sez:

What's the worst car ever to come out of Michigan?

The Howie Carr!

Hurry and get the Michigan coaches to the doctor, they are suffering from the "John Cooper" sickness and it will be terminal for the team if not treated.

Why would Les Miles want to come to UM with what he has going down at LSU??? Besides, it will take a ton of cash to get Miles to even CONSIDER the UM job, which I am not sure Bill Martin is willing to do. My guess is that Martin will want to get someone cheap who wants to coach at UM and not someone who needs a huge contract to even consider the position. I don't necessarily agree with this, but that is how I perceive the situation to be.

Also, Kirk Herbstreit thought Mooch was coming to MSU a year ago, so I take his opinions with a grain of salt.

Do you people still really hate me for bashing Hart???? His I guarantee we will win next week statement!!?? He ran for over a hundred, but didn't score a touchdown!!! Even if you do win, you will be playing A NOTRE DAME TEAM THAT HASN'T SCORED A SINGLE TOUCHDOWN ON OFFENSE ALL YEAR!!!! THAT WILL BE A GREAT GAME TO WATCH YEAH, WONDERFUL!!!!

Without Hart or Henee your offense is lost, and where is your great offensive line!!!! Then you have Penn State, who may eat your team alive with their defense!!! Then their receivers!!! I don't see how you turn this season around. The only hope for now is to beat Notre Dame in a game that will be a comedy of errors, that'll be a great game, yep.

Here is the combination that saves Michigan Football!

Les Miles as head coach...

BRIAN KELLY as the OC

Brian would take our recruits to the next level and Les could do his thing!!!

If Michigan is serious about being a top 5 program again, pay the big dollars and get these two Midwest guys to team up!!!

THAT WOULD BE FREAKING INCREDIBLE!!!

Les Miles as Head Coach
Brian Kelly as OC

Send this idea to Martin!!!

Les Miles as Head Coach
Brian Kelly as OC

Les Miles as Head Coach
Brian Kelly as OC

Les Miles as Head Coach
Brian Kelly as OC

Well there is always basketball, hockey etc. to look forward to this year.

Brian Kelly would never even consider becoming your OC. He will probably go to Purdue when Tiller retires or some other Big Ten team. Les Miles isn't going anywhere unless UM is ready to spend the big bucks.

I am not even sure Les Miles is all that great as a coach. He's done well taking over talent that is already there, however, his track record of rebuilding downed programs leave much to be desired. There is talent at Michigan, but what happens when the he needs to bring in new talent? Can he do it?
