It's official. Kendric Price is no longer on the basketball team. After meeting with Beilein earlier this week, the decision was made between the two that Price will leave the team to concentrate on academics. He is still on scholarship for the coming season, but when it comes to recruiting the Class of 2009, Michigan will now have an extra scholarship.
This is what Beilein had to say about the situation:
"After meeting with Kendric over the past few days, we have mutually decided that he will leave the Michigan Basketball program," said Beilein. "Kendric is a talented young man, and we wish him nothing but success in the future."And this is what Price had to say:
"After much thought throughout the fall and over the last few weeks, I feel that I need to step away," said Price. "I am thankful for the opportunity that was given to me here at Michigan, but I am going to take some time to concentrate on my academic career and decide if I want to further pursue my playing career."
Good luck to Kendric in the future, whether it be on the basketball court or somewhere else.
