With more upsets happening this past Saturday, the polls again received a shake-up. USC's shocking loss to Stanford dropped them down to 10th and 7th. LSU has taken over sole possession of #1 in both polls, although Ohio State has two first-place votes in the coaches poll. South Florida is now ranked 5th in the AP Poll, which speaks for how this season has been so far. As for Michigan, the Wolverines are 30th in the AP Poll and 35th in the USA Today Poll. A win over Purdue may boost them back into the top 25, although I would still say it may not be deserved. Click here for the full polls.- I mentioned that Stanford upset USC already, but now it has to be brought up where that upset exactly ranks. Some are saying it is an even bigger upset than Appalachian State over Michigan, and I obviously like to hear that. Jim Harbaugh might have actually helped Michigan in that respect, as this will help take the entire spotlight off of the ASU game when the season is reviewed at the end of the year.
My personal opinion is that in terms of the actual upset, Stanford over USC is more surprising because the Trojans were a 40-point favorite and Stanford's starting QB was a walk-on. As far as shock value is concerned, the nod obviously goes to Appalachian State there as no one had even heard of that I-AA team from Boone, North Carolina. You can tell that it was a bigger deal as the coverage was so extensive on that game, but with Stanford-USC it really hasn't been treated as the top story. - Postgame pressers after the win over Eastern: Lloyd Carr, Chad Henne, Obi Ezeh, and Brandent Englemon. Mike Hart's is below.
- After recovering from an injury, Michigan commit Sam McGuffie finally got back to his usual form. How's this for a stat line? 272 yards and 6 touchdowns on only 18 carries. Jersey Village, the team Cy-Fair played, has officially been McGuffied.
- Very interesting article on Les Miles and Michigan. Note that this was before LSU defeated Florida on Saturday. The Les Miles for Michigan head coach bandwagon is only going to pick up steam as the season goes on, so get used to hearing more about him on here and everywhere else in the local media.
- Dion Jordan, a prospect that Michigan is recruiting, was seriously burned over the weekend. He is in the hospital and the recovery time is unknown. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jordan.

Good post, although Pritchard wasn't a walk-on, he was one of the top QBs in 2005 & until Luck committed, could've been considered the QB of the future.
Sean, thanks for the article (Link) on Les Miles.
There were two key things in that article that struck me. The first was his statement:
“These are the days that make a man,” Les Miles recalls his father telling him. “These are the days that things don’t go exactly right, that you look forward to because they mark your life.”
That told me how his character was formed. He is not a whimp and will not be a whimp as a coach. Then secondly the statement that was made about him:
“He was never an Oklahoma State Cowboy, and I don’t think that he’s an L.S.U. Tiger right now,” Mayes said without being asked about Michigan. “I think he’s always going to be a Michigan man. I don’t think he’ll be content until he gets to that point.”
That told me where his heart is. Bo only wanted "Michigan Men" working for him and playing for him. May God bless him.
PS, Bo would have been disappointed in that guy coaching at Stanford University now.
F**K Jim Harbaugh for not letting me enjoy Stanford's defeat of USC.
The App. State loss makes the ususal boast that UM has never lost to a MAC team a little meaningless.
