Michigan Off to 2-0 Start in Basketball

The Michigan men's basketball team started its season on Friday with an 82-55 win over Radford. Overall, DeShawn Sims led the team in scoring with 23 points and he was followed by Manny Harris, who had 13. That success continued yesterday as Michigan beat Brown 72-57. It was the 3-pointer that powered the Maize and Blue to victory as the Wolverines knocked down 12 shots from beyond the arc. This time, Manny Harris led all Michigan scorers with 22 points and DeShawn Sims followed with 17.

So far this team has really played well. It seems like the offense flows much better than we have seen in the past, and as a team they have just been playing much better. I know that Radford and Brown aren't exactly the toughest opponents, but at least they're winning and doing it impressively.

The first of many tests Michigan will see comes on Thursday when Beilein and company go to work at Georgetown. I don't expect a victory, but hopefully they will at least be competitive and make it close. With a young and inexperienced team like this, that is all you can really ask for.

The Georgetown game can be found on ESPN360.com at 7:30 on Thursday. If you have Comcast Internet then you are out of luck as ESPN 360 doesn't work for subscribers of the crappiest cable company alive. I'm not sure what the case is for other companies, so you'll just have to check it out yourself and hope that it works.

Enjoy this success because it won't last. Unless you schedule more teams named after colors. Now that we know UM is better than Brown, maybe they could beat the college Pink or Yellow?
