- Sam McGuffie rushed for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns last week in a 63-62 victory for his team. Also, PrepTicket.com has an interesting video about McGuffie and how he became a football player.
- The New York Times featured Mike Hart in an article about all he does off the field. A Q&A with Hart again from the NYT can be found here. In the interview, Hart says that he someday plans on coaching at Michigan, which would not surprise me at all. When he sat out the Illinois and Minnesota games with an injury, he was always next to the coaches or was coaching his teammates, so seeing him on the sideline someday as a head coach wouldn't be shocking at all.
- Former Michigan linebacker David Harris is making a big-time impact with the New York Jets. After the Jets selected him in the draft earlier this year, he had been waiting for his chance to shine, and after an injury sidelined Jonathan Vilma, Harris became the starter at MLB. In his first start, Harris had something like 17 tackles, and most recently, in his second start this past Sunday, Harris had a whopping 24 tackles. I really wish the Lions would've drafted him over Drew Stanton. I felt that way in April and really feel that way now.
- Victors Valiant looks at Michigan State's new countdown clock.
- The Michigan hockey team has been on fire as of late and are now ranked 2nd in both polls. They have only lost one game this year and are on a 6-game winning streak as they head into a series this weekend against Alaska at Yost.
- Chad Henne was named the Big Ten offensive player of the week for his 4-touchdown performance against Michigan State last Saturday. It's a good thing there is no award for best fall, because Henne would've easily won that as well.
- Jake Long is a finalist for the Lombardi Award, which last year went to LaMarr Woodley and annually is awarded to the nation's top lineman or linebacker. Also, Lloyd Carr is a candidate for the Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Award, Mike Hart is a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, and Shawn Crable is a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award.
- The Hoover Street Rag looks at the "Anatomy of a Slapfight," which probably is the best description I've heard in regards to the off the field smack talk that has gone on since the MSU game.
- Make sure to vote for Mario Manningham's game-winning touchdown for this week's Pontiac Game-Changing Performance. The winner will be announced tomorrow during halftime of ESPN's Thursday night game.

Hart does not have the brains to ever coach, otherwise he would have gotten a real major.
