Tuesday Quick Hits: Pryor Was Going to Sign With OSU

  • Terrelle Pryor broke his silence on recruiting for the first time since signing day and shed some light on his current situation. There weren't any earth-shattering revelations, but he did say he was planning on signing with Ohio State before giving Penn State a more serious look.
Pryor admits he was set to sign with Ohio State the day before Feb. 6, but a conversation with his father, Craig, made him think twice. His father wanted him to take another look at Penn State and take an official visit.

But is Pryor doing it to appease his father or is he truly interested in the Nittany Lions?

"I'm really interested," he said. "This isn't just being respectful of my father, this is thinking things through and making sure I have all the info I need before I make a big decision. I really like Coach Bradley at Penn State and they could end up being the right fit for me, I'm not sure."
Pryor went on to say that he is still considering Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Oregon, but really it looks to be between OSU and PSU at this time. A visit to the Nike Palace, a.k.a. Oregon, could change things, but not for Michigan. I think it's time to move on once and for all in regards to Pryor.
  • Varsity Blue has a video of Rich Rodriguez's speech from the Michigan-OSU basketball game on Sunday that is longer than the one I posted yesterday (see below).

  • Scott Bell of the Michigan Daily gave Rich Rodriguez his first report card.
  • Manny Harris was named the Big Ten Basketball Player of the Week and Aaron Palushaj was named the CCHA Rookie of the Week.
  • Michigan hockey player Chad Kolarik is going to be out for 4-5 weeks with a hamstring injury. It was originally believed that he hurt his groin, but as it turns out that initial prognosis was incorrect. Kolarik is on pace to be available for the CCHA's championship weekend next month should his healing process go according to plan, but I would say it is more important for him to get back for the NCAA tournament. Sure, the CCHA title is important as it could lock up a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney, but Kolarik has to return completely healthy come the Big Dance if Michigan is going to make a series run at a national title.

That is the most shocking news I have ever heard about Pryor!

UM will be just fine with Feagin and whoever they sign next year. Threet may surprise a lot of you as well. Also, Mallet was a complete head case, so he is no big loss.

Breaking news: we have landed on the moon!!

(Note the sarcasm regarding Pryor's announcement and how it is not much of a shocker.) That kid sure has an ego issue. How will he react when he sits on the bench for at least one year, possibly more? Bench warmers generally do not get much publicity!

Feagin, Threet, and Brown could be our answer at QB for next year.

Pryor is not. And, after his nearly unlawful acts at his bball game over (threatening the crowd) the weekend I am more and more beginning to believe it when I say "I don't even want Pryor".

We will gladly take Pryor!! Now the only question is this: will he be 4-0 or 3-0 against UM?

Spin all you want, but Pryor is the best in the country and will help OSU stay at the top in the Big Ten and contend for national titles every year. Get ready for a 7-5/6-6 year with the talent you lost on both sides of the ball!!

Anon, I guess it depends on how many times Pryor will play against Miami (OH), or UM.

If you were referring to the University of Michigan, the real question is if Pryor will be 2-2 or 1-3? Way to emabarras the big ten two years in a row in the nc game...
